We are delighted that our instrumentalists will be teaming up with the choir Eclectic Voices for a performance of Handel’s Messiah, directed by Scott Stroman.
This takes place on Sunday 2 April at 4pm, at the Union Chapel, Compton Terrace, Highbury, N1 2UN.
Titled ‘The People’s Messiah’, this performance is free for everyone to attend.

Great to see a good crowd at Bach Vespers tonight, including the Lutheran Bishop of Great Britain, the Rt Rev Tor B Jørgensen. Thanks to Angus McPhee for his superb performance of BWV 82, ‘Ich habe genug’.
There will be no more Bach Vespers now till after Easter.
Dates for the next Bach Vespers are: 30 April, 28 May, 25 June, 30 July. More details nearer the time.
Come and join us for Bach Vespers on 26 February at the church of St Mary-at-Hill in the City of London at 6.30pm. We will perform Bach’s beautiful and ever-popular cantata BWV 82, Ich habe genug, which was written for the feast of Candlemas. This solo cantata for bass includes the poignant aria ‘Schlummert ein’ and ends with the dance-like ‘Ich freue mich’. Our performance features stunning bass Angus McPhee (pictured). There will also be other music by German baroque composers.
Everyone is welcome (no need to be religious), and entrance is free, with a voluntary donation. We look forward to seeing you there and sharing Bach’s wonderful music.

We’ve just done our last Bach Vespers for this year, a wonderfully jubilant occasion with BWV 132. Thanks to all our listeners and everyone who has been involved and supported us during 2022!
